Margaret von Kaenel is exhibiting at the International Salon of Decorative Painters in Rome, Italy, May 28th through 31st at the Cloister of the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli, Via Eudossiana 18, Rome, Italy.
The theme of this exhibition is The Light of the Eternal City. Margaret’s panel is 35-inches wide by 66-inches tall and reflects the light of the ancient city painted onto gold leaf which morphs into Lapis Lazuli. Look closely into the Lapis to see two figures kissing, along with their astrological star formations of Sagittarius and Pisces. The portraits represent Caterina Manisco (Salon Host) and her partner Stefano Luca, and this painting is called Star Kissed Lovers. The painting style was inspired by fellow Salon artist Aurelien Francisco.
Salon Roma 2026 culminates 30 years of excellence in Decorative Painting. This event is the worlds most prestigious gathering of Decorative Painters and meets once a year to share their works of decorative painting in the exhibition and to demonstrate their skills in live painting demonstrations.
