Salon Norway 2022

I spent a couple weeks in Norway in the spring of 2022 with my fellow Salon members. The exhibition and demonstration event was held in Bergen, Norway May 17 through May 22. My husband and I followed it up with a post Salon tour to Balestrand, Flam and Oslo. Norway is a wonderful, friendly and clean country. We greatly enjoyed our time there. The 40-inch by 72-inch exhibition panel I created (shown in this post) was inspired by the chromolithographs of Th. M.M. van Grieken. My demonstration panel is an image of my niece as a Viking warrior with her dragon (also shown in this post).

Salon San Francisco 2023

This year’s Salon is being held in San Francisco at the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture – Gallery 308. My 40-inch by 72-inch panel is a nod to Victorian Design and my years living in California. It is a trompe l’oeil that features a flower crown, a photograph of my time at the beach and a beaded necklace. The Victorian screen is gold leaf and the California Dreamin’, Salon San Francisco 2023 is done in Tamise flakes. (shown in this post). The event takes place April 18-19 10am – 4pm and April 20 10am – 3pm. If you are out and about in the area, do stop in. There will be over 25 countries represented and the work is outstanding!
